How to Setup/Verify ALTEL 4G hotspot internet connection, using your PC/Laptop.

This guide is for the ALTEL 4g hotspot.

 

If you are unsure if your hotspot have connection to your camera and need to verify with your computer.
Hotspot issue: No internet connection, No connection to TrackMyCam, LED light on Hotspot (irregular, green/blue,red).

Before we start: Please verify SIM card is not missing and/or inserted correctly into the hotspot.

  1. Disable Wireless/Network connection internet to your computer.
    Go to your Network & Internet settings: Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections
  2. Right click your WIFI or LAN connection and click Disable.
    * Note: Once this entire step is completed, you can right click your normal computer internet connection and click enable.*
  3. Insert USB hotspot into computer. It will prompt you to install a driver for the device. Click Run Setup.exe
  4. Give it a minute to boot up. Open a web browser and check if you can browse the internet.
    Do you have internet connection?

    If yes, stop here. We no longer have to go further. You have connection.
    (remember to enable your computer internet after you unplug you hotspot).

    Continue reading if there is no internet connection.

     

    A web browser will open automatically.
    If it does not; Please input ufi.ztedevice.com into your web browser url; ie chrome/firefox. Hit Enter.

  5.  A screen will come up asking for a password. Type in admin as the password and click login.
  6. Verify you see AT&T above and it shows signal strength. If this does not show. Please verify sim is insert correctly and reconnect the usb hotpot and log back in.

     

  7. If the below is not turn OFF. Slide over to turn ON.


     

  8. Is there a current connection shown below? Green arrow up/down.

    If yes, stop here. We no longer have to go further. You have connection.
    (remember to enable your computer internet after you unplug you hotspot).

    Continue if reading if there is no internet connection.

     

  9. Click Network Settings (pictured above).
  10. Click APN. Verify that you have settings default as the picture below.


  11. If you do not.
    Click Manual.
    Click Add New.
    Under Profile Name & APN, type in:

    M2M005248.ATTZ

  12. Leave everything else empty as pictured.Click Apply-Make sure Mode: Manual is still selected.

    On the Profile: Select the APN you have just created in the drop down.

    Click Apply or Set Default again.

    Give it 10-20 seconds to try and connect online:
    Is there a current connection shown below? Green arrow up/down.

    If yes, stop here. We no longer have to go further. You have connection.
    (remember to enable your computer internet after you unplug you hotspot).

     

    Continue if reading if there is no internet connection.

  13.  Click the < arrow twice to go back to home screen.  Make sure this is still turn ON.


  14. Verify connection again.If it does not connect online from here, please email support@planethalo.com for further help.
