How to Setup/Verify AT&T Velocity 4G hotspot internet connection, using your PC/Laptop.

This guide is for the AT&T Velocity Hotspot pictured below.

 

 

If you are unsure if your hotspot have connection to your camera and need to verify with your computer.
Hotspot issue: No internet connection, No connection to TrackMyCam, LED light on Hotspot (irregular, green/blue,red).

Before we start: Please verify SIM card is not missing and/or inserted correctly into the hotspot.

  1. Disable Wireless/Network connection internet to your computer.
    Go to your Network & Internet settings: Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections
  2. Right click your WIFI or LAN connection and click Disable.* Note: Once this entire step is completed, you can right click your normal computer internet connection and click enable.*
  3. Insert USB hotspot into computer. It will prompt you to install a driver for the device. Click Run Setup.exe
  4. Give it a minute to boot up. Open a web browser and check if you can browse the internet.
    Do you have internet connection?

    If yes, stop here. We no longer have to go further. You have connection.
    (remember to enable your computer internet after you unplug you hotspot).

    Continue reading if there is no internet connection.

    A web browser will open automatically.
    If it does not;

    Please input attusbmodem into your web browser url; ie chrome/firefox.

    Hit Enter.

  5.  If password is prompt. Type in admin as the password and click login.
  6. Verify you see AT&T logo pictured and it shows signal strength. If this does not show. Please verify sim is insert correctly and reconnect the usb hotpot and log back in.



  7. Is there a current connection shown like below? Image should show connectiong moving in and out of the 4G LTE logo.

           

    and on the same home page, a signal strength like below. (dBm varies).

     

    If yes, stop here. We no longer have to go further. You have connection.
    (remember to enable your computer internet after you unplug you hotspot).

     

    Continue if reading if there is no internet connection.

     

  8. Click Settings to your left.

  9. Under Network > APN. Verify that you have settings default as the picture below.

 

  1. If you do not.Click Manual.Click the blue Add button.
    Under Profile Name & APN, type in: 

    M2M005248.ATTZ

     

  2. Leave everything else empty as pictured above (default).
    Click
    Set Default. The connection status will turn off and back on. This will reconnect you to the network shown below.

    If it does not connect, verify:

    On the Profile Selection: Select the APN you have just created in the drop down.

     

    Click Set Default again.

    Give it 10-20 seconds to try and connect online:
    Is there a current connection shown like the above picture?

     

  3. Verify connection again.  Your set once the logo appears and is showing a connection.

    (remember to enable your computer internet after you unplug you hotspot).
     
  4. If it does not connect online from here, please email support@planethalo.com for further help.
