LED LIGHT STATUS TROUBLE SHOOTING


Note: You can skip all the trouble shooting steps
Send your camera & hotspot dongle in for diagnostic / repair instead.

1. All Lights ON: Normal Operation  

Green  solid camera is recording to micro SD memory card

Blue  solid camera is connected to GPS Satellite

White solid = camera is connected to cloud network (subscribed service).

Fix Solution:

A. If all 3 lights are solid without blinking: The camera is working properly. No need to do anything further.

B. If it is not connecting to the cloud network service; try unplugging the power cord on top left side of camera (DC in port) & wait for all lights to go out;
Re-plug power cord back to camera. Lights on camera will come back on, wait for about 1-5 minutes to see if white light goes solid.

C. If problem persist, please send in your camera for inspection.

2. White Light Blinking: Not Connected to Cloud Network (subscribed service only).

Green  Solid camera is recording to micro SD memory card

Blue  Solid camera is connected to GPS Satellit

White Blinking= camera is attempting or not connected to cloud network (subscribed service).

Fix Solution:

A. First let’s reboot the camera by unplugging the power cord on top left side of camera (DC in port) & wait for all lights to go out; Re-plug power cord back to camera. Lights on camera will come back on, wait for about 1-5 minutes to see if white light goes solid.

-If you have all solid lights now after 1-5 minutes after rebooting the camera, problem has been resolved.

B. After rebooting; if you still have a white blinking light, check to make sure your PH4G hotspot dongle is connected securely to your camera with the USB cable, the dongle should have a blinking blue light.

-If you have no light make sure the PH4G hotspot is plugged in & seated correctly (see Picture A below).
-If it is plugged in correctly & the PH4G hotspot has no light on dongle; please send camera & hotspot dongle in for RMA.

C. If you have a RED light on the dongle:

– Please remove the cover from the back of the dongle. (see Picture B below).
– We can check if the sim has service. Write down the SIM number & email the information back to: support@planethalo.com
– Please include in your email:

* Your company name,
* Sim number
* Vehicle name
* Camera’s serial number (located in back of the camera)
* Contact info: a good phone number to reach you at

3. All Lights Off: No Power /No micro SD Card Present

Green  Off camera is not recording to micro SD memory card

Blue  Off camera is not connected to GPS Satellite

White Off = camera is not connected to cloud network (subscribed service).

Fix Solution:

A. Make sure you have at least one micro SD card in the camera top slot. Not having any micro SD cards in the camera can cause this issue.
– Insert a new formatted EXFAT 32GB-128GB micro SD cards into camera.

If you still don’t have any lights after putting in micro SD cards proceed to next step.

B. Make sure the power cable is plug into the camera “dc in” port properly & securely. *(see Picture C below).

– If you have another camera on hand, plug it into the same dc power cable to check for power *or use a volt meter.
Still don’t have any power? Check for breaks, loose connections, incorrect wiring, physically damaged cable, or physical damage to the dc power port).

C. If you try another camera into the same power cable & you get power to that camera.

– The original camera could be faulty. Send in for diagnostic / repair.

4. All Lights Blinking: Need Firmware Update or New micro SD Card

Green  Blinking camera is not recording to micro SD memory card

Blue  Blinking camera is not connected to GPS Satellite

White Blinking = camera is not connected to cloud network (subscribed service).

Fix Solution:

A. Your micro SD card may have failed, replace it with a new micro SD card. (Memory Card have a lifespan & will eventually wear down).

– Not all micro SD cards are created equal (you get what you normally pay for – this hold very true to these cards).
– Cheap SD Cards tend to not be high grade and will prematurely fail.
– Please use at your own risk if you decide to buy this yourself, we do not recommend nor provide support if you choose to so.

B. All three lights continue to blink after putting in a new micro SD cards.

C. If problem persist, please send in your camera for inspection.

5. Blue Light Off: GPS Not Connected

Green Solid = camera is recording to micro SD memory card

Blue  Off = camera is not connected to GPS Satellite

White Solid = camera is connected to cloud network (subscribed service).

Fix Solution:

A. GPS light is off – This means that the camera is not connected to GPS.

– Check & make sure the GPS cable is plugged into the correct “GPS IN” port; on top of the camera.  *(see Picture D below).
– Push firmly until it seats and click in.
